Vladimir Putin has publicly stated he will not take another term of office. One politician has suggested that Russia has enjoyed greater stability since Mr. Putin has been in office and the best choice would be for him to remain at the helm. There are 2 names, maybe 3 that are being put forward now as good choices for new leadership. (I won't even try to tell you their names. I can't say them, and I certainly can't spell them.) There are many things I think President Putin has done well with during his term in office. I hope those after him are as good in their efforts to lead this LARGE nation that has such a diverse people and culture.

Warsaw, Poland has passed a law that anyone born before 1974 will have to reveal if they have cooperated with Communist governments. It's an open disclosure policy such as the one already in effect in Germany.

Moscow mosques celebrated Mohammed's Birthday. Twenty million Muslims live in Russia. Mohammed was born in the southern region of the former USSR, in the Caucuses.

140 years ago, Russia sold Alaska to the USA. Alaska accounts for 50% of the gold, gas and oil to the USA.
