The Russian Orthodox Churches of Russia and those abroad, are restoring ties after 80 years. Many disagreements over doctrine and issues with Communism had caused the division. Services will remain the same, the clergy retain their positions, and they believe the unity will make them stronger. This will happen officially on Thursday.
The Russian people have been deeply offended at the relocation of a Russian War Memorial in Estonia. Relations have been very strained over it. It has already been accomplished as I write this. Many people have protested in Tallinn and many youth were camping out in front of the Estonian Embassy in Moscow. The Estonian people try to be good neighbors, but they don't really want to invite the Russians over for a visit. I believe they are very suspicious of the motivations of everything Russia does.
I just saw one of the newest things to come out for the youth. Its a foot device that makes you walk like you would on the moon. The news article says that it takes about a week to get used to them. They work like a pogo stick, but you wear them over your shoes. The boy demonstrating them really ran along like I remember seeing an astronaut bounce along on the moon. Neat!
